Within Myanmar entire villages were burned to the ground, families were separated and killed, and women and girls were gang-raped. Most of the people who escaped are now severely traumatized after witnessing unspeakable atrocities. Bangladesh has become the primary location for refugees fleeing persecution in the Rakhine State of Myanmar and is currently home to 1.2 million people in 17 different camps including Kutupalong refugee camp and Nayapara refugee camp. On the ground, CAP Foundation has been racing against the clock to help provide people with safe and dignified shelter and living conditions as well as giving birth in safe conditions.
